| May 05 1933 | Sailed from Aberdeen under skipper Jack Hague with a crew of 10. After a brief stop at Granton she set course for the Longstone Light and the fishing grounds. As they arrived the Chief discovered water pouring in through the main bunkers. The pumps were unable to stem the flow and the Aberdeen trawler, AURORA came alongside and took off the crew before FLORENCE DOMBEY eventually sank, 6 miles north of the Longstone in position 55.45N x 01.37W, thirty-five minutes after the leak was discovered.
AURORA brought the crew into Anstruther where they were put up in a boarding house until the morning..
