1918 Built as Admiralty Castle JAMES LAY.
1919 Sold to mercantile and acquired by Sir William Beardmore, Glasgow.
September 1939Requisitioned and converted to a MS.
May 18/19 1940Took part in Operation Quentin/Quidnunc/Quixote, the cutting of the North Sea telephone cable between Germany and the UK.
1942Bought by J Marr & Son Ltd (Later Dinas Steam Trawler Co) whilst still on Admiralty service.
June 1944Took part in Operation Neptune, the D-Day landings as a DL attached to the 15th MS flotilla, in Force S.
October 1944Returned to owners.
1946Returned to fishing.
1960Scrapped.
